I had thought this mission trip would start August 27th of 2022, but I was constantly being told throughout the past year that it had started once I signed up for the world race gap year.  You know what, that made sense to me, because after I signed up for this mission trip. It gave me the opportunity to talk to people about what God has been doing in my life. To me that was an amazing opportunity that I took full advantage of. But the past couple of weeks have taught me that the start of this mission trip started when I was knitted together in my mother’s womb,  and maybe even before that. God has been preparing me for this time in my life sense the beginning of my days. He (our Heavenly Father) has given me “ intense skills” to serve him and better His kingdom. Which has been blatantly obvious in the last week. In short God has given each and everyone of us gifts to help expand the kingdom of God. Not all gifts are the same. If they were that would be pretty lame for one, and I’m not sure as much spiritual growth would happen in that circumstance. Even though all our spiritual gifts are different. They can all come together to sharpen one another as Christians; and make a radical change in our world to expand the kingdom of God. My squad mates and I are all different. Not just physically and mentally but also spiritually. We all interpret God’s voice in a different way which has been so cool seeing everyone else’s way. We have just started to use all our different gifts to help one another grow and it is the coolest thing ever. I couldn’t ask for a better squad.

  1. Great insight!
Good reminder as well. I will keep praying for your squad and for ears to hear.
    Love Dad

  2. Luke- you are so right, so much wisdom in your words! From the beginning God has had a plan for each of and has given us all beautiful gifts to use to further His kingdom!! But so often we don’t see them, understand them or use them for good. It is my prayer for you and your team that He would reveal gifts to those who may not know their gifting and that all of your gifts would be used to unify the team and bring power to this mission trip!
    Love you!

  3. This makes perfect sense.. iron sharpens iron.. and this squad was designed and put together by God, for your growth, and His Glory!
    Praying for you all!

  4. We love reading about you adventure. We are so blessed to have one of God’s children that are also really living Gods life. Love you and so

  5. You are right, Luke. This mission trip started when you were in your mother’s womb. It is so fun to see what gifts God has given folks and how they can each help the church in a different way. It is also cool to see yourself learning about your gifting and using those gifts to benefit those in the body God highlights to you. I see you growing, Luke!
